In Workshop 2 the latest developments in leaching test development, test data evaluation and interpretation, geochemical and reactive transport modeling will be addressed in relation the development of a database linked expert system to evaluate environmental impact from a wide range of materials - soil, contaminated soil, sludge, compost, sediments, wastes, stabilized waste and a variety of construction materials - concrete, asphalt, brick, aggregate in different scenarios. In particular, the relationship between lab and field will be addressed, as the ultimate goal is to predict long term behaviour from relatively short duration laboratory leaching test and modeling. A framework to integrate all of these aspects will be discussed covering aspects such a hierarchy in testing, hierarchy in modeling and links with regulatory developments.
